Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, Suling attended the University of Pennsylvania where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. in Design of the Environment and a B.S.E. in Civil Engineering. Post-graduation, she pursued her passion in design, eventually becoming a licensed architect (State of Hawaii).  

Her journey in the architecture and interior design industry began in 2000, and she has worked in San Francisco, Honolulu, and Singapore on a range of project types in California, Hawaii, Singapore, China, Indonesia, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia.

While based in Honolulu and later Singapore, she began to focus primarily on luxury hotels and resorts as Senior Associate and Senior Project Designer at WATG, Associate Director at Blink Design Group, and Design Manager for InterContinental Hotels Group.

 Now located in Napa, California, Suling enjoys focusing on projects in detail and developing timeless and pragmatic design solutions. The culture of hospitality pervades all aspects of her work by elevating experiences through design and bringing joy to the design process.
